Grout - For Color Sealing using our GDC- Epoxy Grout Colorants.
Safety first -
It is strongly advised that you use Common Safety Sense when dealing
with these or any household cleaning products and chemicals. Wear,
Safety glasses, Gloves, and use a mask if needed. And always keep the
area well ventilated while working, by opening a window or using a fan.
Remember to keep these and other chemical products out of the reach of
children. Safety is everyone's responsibility. Use safety measures in
the home and the work place.
User responsibility-
Always do a test area to determine if these products are suitable for
your needs. Do test area first to determine colorant color,
adherence and cleanup methods needed. wait 1 hour for results. Again It
is the responsibility of the customer and or end user to determine
whether or not the use of these products is suitable for their purpose
and needs.
For newly installed
grout - That has not been sealed before, and is still clean, It is
not necessary to use any Sealer removers, Acidic or Alkaline cleaners.
For Grout that has
been sealed before - Use our GDC Grout Sealer remover.
If you are not sure
that your grout was sealed - Try this test - Pour some water on your
grout, if the grout stays the same color or the water beads up
(like when you wax your car), then it was probably sealed. Use the GDC
Sealer Remover. If the grout changes color, gets darker or the water
absorbs into the grout then your grout is still pourus and probably has
not been sealed. Then you do not have to use the Sealer Remover product.
If your grout is dirty
- Use our GDC Pre Treat Cleaner. This product will clean the grout and
also open the pours of the grout so the colorant penetrates deeper.
If your grout is
Sealed and Dirty - Use our GDC Sealer Remover, let dry, then use our
GDC Pre Treat Cleaner.
If Wax is in your
grout - From using wax products like Mop & Glow or Murphy's oil
soap, then it must be removed before Color Sealing, Use our GDC Grout
Sealer Remover for this.
Repair any missing or
cracked grout - It is recommended that you repair and missing
or cracked grout before Color Sealing. You can put in any color grout
that you have. It will not matter, because the GDC Epoxy Grout Colorant
will make all of the grout one even color. If
you have sanded grout (very rough) then you should do your repairs with
a sanded grout. If you have unsanded grout (smooth) than you should do
your repairs with a unsanded grout. Let the repair
"cure" for 7 days before applying the colorant

Some new grout requires a
minimum of 14 days cure time before a colorant or sealer is applied.
Existing grout joints
must be clean, dry and free of existing coatings or contaminants or
sealers that may affect bond. Prepare existing grout joints as needed.
Grout joints must be clean and dry before application of colorant
Toothbrush Method
- Pour the Epoxy Grout Colorant into a small shallow dish and apply
onto the grout joint using a back and fourth motion. Spread evenly,
working the GDC Grout Colorant into the grout joint.
Application Bottle
Method- Pour the Grout Colorant
into the application bottle, (sold separately) and apply directly to the
grout joint. While slightly squeezing the bottle gently allow colorant
to evenly flow out. Spread evenly, working Grout Colorant into the grout
joint using a back and forth motion.
Our
GDC Epoxy Grout Colorant uses a dry method cleanup no water is needed in
most cased.
Apply
the Epoxy Grout Colorant in a small workable area at a time. Let
the Grout Colorant “set-up” in the grout joint for a couple of
minutes or sometimes just seconds. Clean
the excess Grout Colorant off of the tile while the colorant is
dry in the grout joint but still wet on the tile. With a dry rag or
scrub pad, (no water) by wiping up the excess Grout Colorant from the
tile as you go, skimming lightly over the grout joint in a circular
motion.
After the Grout Colorant
is applied their might be a slight residual left on the tile, depending
on how well it was cleaned after colorant application. If this happens
take a slightly dampened sponge and wipe the residual off.
Save any extra colorant
in a tightly sealed container for "touch-ups".
Once the grout is
colored you can walk on the floor lightly for the first day
While our colorant is dry
in minutes and the area is ready for traffic the same day. It is
recommended that you do not put any heavy amounts of water or chemicals
on your floor for the first week.
Wipe up any spills with a
damp sponge.
Let the Epoxy Grout
Colorant “cure/bond” to your grout for at least one week.
The first real cleaning
of your floor should be done with warm water only, no chemicals.
When cleaning and
maintaining your floors always remember to either sweep or vacuum first
before mopping the floor. When you mop the floor always remember to
change the water constantly as needed. After the first cleaning
with “water only” you can maintain your floor and walls with Neutral
